  College Senior School Curriculum Overview

The Grovedale College Senior School  comprises of  Years 11 and 12. The focus is on success in the VCE and successful pathways to work and further education.

Course Counselling.

In September and August students in years 9, 10 and 11 undertake a rigourous course information and counseling process to maximize their options for an enjoyable and successful course of study.

 

VCE Subject Choices.

Agriculture/Horticulture, Biology, Business Management, Chemistry, Drama, English, Food & Technology, Foundation Maths, Further Maths, General Maths, Health & Human Development, History, Information Technology, Legal Studies, Literature, Italian, Maths Methods, Media Studies, Music Performance, Outdoor Education & Environmental Studies, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology, Product Design and Technology Metal and Wood,Specialist Maths, Sports Academy (Sport and Recreation Certificate III), Studio Arts, Systems Engineering, Visual Communication and Design, VCAL Work Related Skills and  Personal Development.

Specialist Programs.

We have a strong Instrumental program that runs in years 7 and 8, fitting into individual students’ timetables. The Sports Academy program is available for students to apply to be involved in from Years 7 – 10. After year 7 students are selected to participate and engage in specialised Netball, AFL or Fitness programs involving the use of the large operational commercial gym on the premises as guest elite sportsmen and women. At year 9 students participate in “River to the Coast”, an enriching, “hands on program” which incorporates a whole level activity one day per week.
