Thank you to all our families who attended Course Information and Expo on Wednesday 2 August. From that evening, all students now have the exciting prospect of choosing subjects for the upcoming year. Course counselling has commenced for our students from Year 9 – Year 11 and we look forward to the continuation of that process this term.

Wednesday was a busy day for students at the College. We have also had the last session of the Year 12 English Masterclass, where top English students from Geelong public schools around the region, combined for a presentation with experienced English assessor Mr Ross Huggard. This has been the last of the three sessions throughout the year, with over eleven schools participating and over 100 students being present for one session or more. It has been our pleasure to host this event and hope it is beneficial for all participating schools and students.

We have also had the Y-Lead team facilitate an engaging day for our Year 11s on Wednesday 16 August. It was wonderful to see the level of participation, engagement and support the students had for each other throughout this day. It puts the graduating class of 2024 off to a fantastic start in preparation for their final year. The process will shortly be underway to determine our senior student leadership team for 2024. Please encourage your child to consider this opportunity and note further information will come out shortly. We are also in the process of organising Year 12 Class of 2024 jumpers. There will be further information on Compass regarding the process of purchasing the jumper to keep an eye out for also.

A reminder for our Year 10 students that work experience is held on the second last week of term, from Monday 4 September – Friday 8 September. Students have been encouraged to reach out to workplaces in their current area of interest. If a placement is confirmed, please ensure you return the documentation as soon as possible. If you have questions, please speak to your Home Group teacher, Focus Group teachers or go to the Careers office for assistance. For students who are not completing the option of work experience, a reminder to students and families that classes for all other Year 10 students will be running as normal.

A reminder to the families of our current Year 12 students that we are looking forward to celebrating graduation with you on Wednesday 15 November at GMHBA stadium. Tickets are currently available for family members on Compass for the
graduating class of 2023.
